The owners of this beautiful Spanish-style home wanted more usable outdoor living space in their backyard, which began as a dense jungle on a huge, radically-sloped hillside. By terracing the hill with retaining walls and installing a fire pit, flagstone, gravel, and water-wise plants, we created three distinct living spaces for the clients to relax and enjoy the balmy SoCal weather. Out front, we created a grand courtyard by repurposing the original brick pavers around a dramatic basalt-column fountain and exotic drought-tolerant flora caps off the lush and inviting entryway.
