Unquestionably, my most ambitious project to date – a total property renovation nestled on a 3.5-acre parcel overlooking Zuma Beach in Malibu, CA – I was beyond excited to design a landscape of such magnificent natural beauty!

Our approach to designing this home’s vast outdoor spaces required balancing the specific lifestyle needs the client desired with the unique essence of the land. Exercising restraint, utilizing natural materials, and with serenity as our objective, we integrated the contemporary character of the new architecture seamlessly into its expansive natural surroundings. Situated on an environmentally sensitive bluff within the Malibu city limits, my design implemented a mostly native, drought-tolerant planting plan, adhering to strict fire codes and stormwater pollution control regulations. Through the design and discovery process, we created several inviting outdoor spaces that inspire a deep connection with the land for everyone fortunate enough to live and visit there.
